There are two main highways that enter Dawson Creek from British Columbia. Highway 97 (Hart Highway) via Prince George enters Dawson Creek from the west, and Highway 97 (Alaska Highway) enters Dawson Creek from the north via Fort St. John. Distance from Dawson Creek to Prince George is 406km (252mi), and to Fort St. John is 73km (45mi).

BusGreyhound Canada buses service Dawson Creek and other cities and towns in northeast BC. The station is open daily with hours from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday to Friday, and weekends and holidays from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Daily departures and arrivals include Edmonton, Prince George, and Fort St. John. The Greyhound Bus Station is located north of downtown on the Alaska Highway, at 1201 Alaska Avenue.
Getting Around Dawson Creek
While sightseeing at the Railways Park and downtown can easily be accomplished on foot, other sites, such as Mile '0' Park, are a bit further away. Dawson Creek has public bus transportation in and around the city, and two taxi companies operate in town. Ask for a copy of the Dawson Creek Transport/Automobile brochure at the Visitor Center, as it provides a convenient listing of various transportation-related services. Vehicle access is necessary for destinations further away including the Kiskatinaw Bridge and McQueen's Slough.
