Car and Mini-Bus Travel While roads in 100 Mile House and outlying communities are paved, many back roads accessing the lakes and guest ranches are not and may require a higher-clearance vehicle. Winter tires are a must for seasonal driving, and drivers should be aware that commercial logging trucks also use these roads. Having a car is the easiest way to get around the community, although a community bus is available. A relaxed, country-style of bus service has been implemented using a HandyDart minibus. The mini-bus provides door-to-door service for seniors and those with disabilities, but also travels on regular routes between 100 Mile, 103 Mile and 108 Mile. The bus stops at posted stops every few hours, and can be flagged down between stops if needed . Greyhound Canada coaches arrive and depart 100 Mile House three times a day connecting to the major communities of Vancouver, Kamloops, Williams Lake, and Prince George. Taxis and Rentals 100 Mile Taxi & Charter Services operates between 100 Mile House and surrounding communities (service from Clinton to Little Fort to 150 Mile). Cars can be rented through Car Depot and Sunrise Ford in 100 Mile House.
Air Travel Although no commercial airlines provide service to 100 Mile House, there is a private airstrip for private planes and charters. The airstrip is directly behind the South Cariboo Visitor Centre on Highway 97. A second, larger private airport in 108 Mile, adjacent to and within sight of Highway 97, is capable of handling corporate jets and multi-engine aircraft. Private fixed-wing and helicopter charters offer flight-seeing and transportation from either airport.
