Mount Washington Alpine Resort
As the largest snow-activity facility on Vancouver Island, Mount Washington Alpine Resort is a winter sports paradise. Snowshoeing is a large -and growing- part of the festivities. In fact, the mountain maintains 20 km (12 mi) of trails in serene, alpine meadows, much to the delight of snowshoeing aficionados. For a memorable experience, try the evening Snowshoe Guided Tour and Fondue Dinner: shoe through the alpine meadows, then reward yourself with a three-course fondue dinner. Those adventurers seeking winter challenges can also test their mettle ski touring and snow camping on the mountain.
Mount Washington is located on Vancouver Island, a 20-minute drive west of Courtenay and Comox, as well as just over an hour's drive north of Nanaimo.
