Cypress Mountain offers 10 km (6.2 mi) of snowshoe trails running through pristine, sub-alpine meadows and snow-laden forests. Take a guided excursion of the area, which includes a stop at historic Hollyburn Lodge, built in 1926, and a great spot for a fondue meal or a steaming mug of cocoa. Cypress is situated less than an hour from Vancouver, and offers breathtaking views of that city, as well as English Bay, Georgia Strait and Howe Sound. Cypress Mountain is the site of the snowboarding and freestyle venues for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

Known as the Peak of Vancouver, Grouse Mountain was the region's first developed ski area and is a favourite destination for locals and visitors alike. Access to the top is via the Skyride, a 1.6-km (1-mi) aerial tram ride up the mountain. The views of Vancouver, the surrounding mountains and the ocean are breathtaking. Grouse is a popular destination for snowshoeing; the Munday Alpine Snowshoe Park offers four groomed and marked trails ranging from 1 km (0.6 mi) to 3.5 km (2.2 mi). Attributes
Just a short drive from downtown Vancouver, Mount Seymour offers outstanding snowshoeing opportunities and views of Vancouver, Burrard Inlet, Indian Arm and surrounding mountains. Located on the east side of the North Shore Mountains. There are over 10 km (6.2 mi) of well marked and maintained trails at the Discovery Snowshoe Area.
