Snowshoers headed to Apex for some invigorating walks won't be disappointed. Just 7 km (4.4 mi) away, the Nickel Plate Nordic Centre has groomed 25 km (15.5) mi of trails specifically for the use of shoers.

Back at Apex, there are accommodations to suit every budget. Families are welcome.

Apex Mountain Resort is a 30-minute drive west from Penticton.

  • Apex Mountain Resort provides a variety of exceptional terrain for all kinds of winter activities in addition to snowshoeing: downhill skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, snowmobile touring, horse-drawn sleigh rides, ice climbing, snow biking and tubing.
  • Skate on an NHL-sized outdoor skating rink or along a 1-km (0.6-mi) skating loop that winds through trees.
