With fantastic terrain and annual snowfall in excess of 12m/40ft, Revelstoke is a major snowmobiling centre with a huge network of trails .  Best of all, most of the sledding areas are easily accessed from the highway.

Highlight Riding Areas

There are many places to ride in Revelstoke. Boulder Mountain, just west of Revelstoke, offers a huge area of alpine bowls and meadows, along with 50m/30mi of trails.  A little further north, Turtle Mountain challenges more experienced riders.

The exceptionally scenic Frisby Ridge area features a spectacular 5km/3mi ridge ride  as part of a 60 km/ 37 mi network of trails.

Mount Hall, accessed via Highway 23 South, 40km/25mi south of the TransCanada Highway, is a large alpine area with more than 150km/93mi of trails.

Trail maps are available at the Revelstoke Visitor Centre on Campbell Avenue.

Snowmobile Tour Packages

Touring packages are available in town. Great Canadian Snowmobile Tours offers a range of snowmobile tours with programs that range from a two-hour introduction for complete novices to five-day packages for expert riders.

Accommodation is provided at either the Glacier House Hoteland Resort or the Sandman Inn in Revelstoke.   At Glacier House, riders enjoy direct access to snowmobile trails from the front door.  Glacier House is located 7km/4mi north of the TransCanada Highway off Westside Road.  (Yes, that's on the west side of the Columbia River.)

Revelstoke Snowmobile Tours Ltd, on Sandstone Road, offers guided tours of the Boulder Mountain area for individuals and groups.

Take a guided tour or come equipped. Either way, most area hotels offer special rates for snowmobilers.
