Lots of sunshine and snow – 750cm/24.5ft of dry powder on average every year – bring snowboarders to Silver Star Mountain Resort from late November through mid-April. These conditions have repeatedly won the resort "Best Powder" accolades and a "Best Weather" award from Ski Canada Magazine.

Sweet Terrain

Freeriders go easy or go hard. The 1240ha/3065 acres of rideable terrain includes 115 marked downhill runs. The longest is 8km/5mi and the maximum vertical is 760m/2500ft. Look for green or blue ratings on 70 per cent of the runs and newbies can get started in special areas set aside for beginners. Check out the glades and terrain features in the Attridge area or head for the steep and deep chutes of Putnam Creek off the Powder Gulch Express chair.

There's even more action at Silver Star's sister property, Big White Ski Resort. Check at the Silver Star Village Visitor Centre for info on inter-mountain day trip shuttle service between resorts.

Telus Park & Rail Garden

Silver Star offers 6.5ha/16ac of major action in the Telus Park and Rail Garden with lots of table tops, step up jumps and spines. Snowboarders can take on a mix of metal to grind with wide rails, minis, flats, kinks, rainbows and boxes.

Fewer Crowds at Silver Star

With 10 downhill lifts, including the Six Pack Express, four quad chairs, a double chair, T-bar and three Magic Carpets, line-ups are reasonable even at peak times.

Snowsport School

Learn to snowboard or sharpen those skills with group lessons. Silver Star also offers private coaching tailored to the individual boarder's needs and goals.

Silver Star Adaptive Snow Sports

People with disabilities join the snowboarding action with the help of Silver Star Adaptive Snow Sports volunteers.

Getting There
