Downhill Skiers and snowboarders have three options in the Clearwater area. Take the family to Clearwater Ski Hill in town, venture out to Sun Peaks Resort, or helicopter in to Mike Wiegele Resort.
Clearwater Ski Hill
Clearwater Ski Hill is a family-oriented complex with 5 runs ranging from a beginners' bunny hill to quite challenging slopes, with night skiing available. The comfortable mountain-top lodge has a cafeteria and on-site equipment rentals for skis and snowboards.
Sun Peaks Resort
Sun Peaks Resort, 90 minutes from Clearwater, is an easy ski and snowboard day-trip.
The resort boasts with mild temperatures, fine dry snow, abundant blue skies, and more than 2000 hours of annual sunshine. Choose from Todd Mountain's open bowls, Sundance Mountain's perfectly groomed cruisers, or Mount Morrisey's glades. The longest run is 8km/5mi from the top of Todd Mountain down to the European-style village.
Mike Wiegele Resort
Located midway between Kamloops and Clearwater, Mike Wiegele Resort attracts skiers from all over the world to its deep powder terrain at elevation of 1,046m/3,400ft to 3,569m11,600ft. The lodge at the Mike Wiegele Ski Resort is located at a low elevation of 690m/2240ft. Guests stay in one of 22 handcrafted log chalets located throughout the resort. Most Private Ski Package chalets include a helicopter pad outside the door.
