Purcell Helicopter Skiing Continuing a century-old tradition in Golden, this company's owner, Rudi Gertsch, is an experienced mountain guide from Switzerland. On a huge tenure south of Golden, in the Purcell Mountains, the company has been offering skiers thrilling powder adventures for more than 30 years. Great Canadian Heli-Skiing Great Canadian offers packages of between two and seven days, with unlimited vertical. Accommodation is provided at the Heather Mountain Lodge, as is breakfast, a picnic lunch and a gourmet evening meal. Also flying out of Golden, the company operates with a maximum of four skiers/snowboarders per group. In their brochure, Great Canadian stresses the importance of physical fitness over skiing experience, but then they also offer a hot tub and massage service at the end of a long day in the powder.

However, at Chatter Creek Lodge, where the focus is mainly on cat skiing, it is also possible to add a day or more of dedicated heli-skiing experience - and they guarantee a minimum vertical of 5200m/17000ft.
