Cypress Mountain
Cypress Mountain is one of the most popular cross-country ski areas in Canada. More than 2,000 skiers a day can use the designated trails, which are set amid snow-covered lakes and forests. There are 19 km (11.8 mi) of track-set trails, including 10 km (6.2 mi) lit for night skiing. There is an excellent cross-country ski school at the mountain.
Cypress is situated less than an hour from Vancouver, and offers breathtaking views of that city, as well as English Bay, Georgia Strait and Howe Sound. Cypress Mountain is the site of the snowboarding and freestyle venues for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
