Kayaking in Harrison, Tourism Harrison photo
Whether it's swimming from sandy shores, wind-surfing, water skiing or sailing around in a Hobie Cat, having fun on or near the water is what Harrison Hot Springs is all about. There are public launches at Harrison Beach and Sasquatch Provincial Park for those with their own boats, and commercial canoe rentals are available to explore Hicks and Deer lakes as well as the park's smaller lakes.
Killer's Cove Boat Rentals A small fleet of boat rentals lie at the docks in front of the Harrison Bay Resort & RV Park Motorized boats range from a 17ft Sports Utility 50hp to 18ft Bow Riders 190hp while non-motorized craft include pedal boats, canoes, ocean kayaks and tri-maran sailing boats. Killer's Cove Boat Rentals also operates a water taxi service.
Harrison Water Sports Find rental sea-doos at the adjoining dock, alongside two-person bumper boats. Loaded with electric water guns that shoot a spray for 10 feet, they make for some pretty wet battles between bumpering opponents. For even wetter fun, try the ten-person banana tube. Towed behind a high performance ski boat, rides are fast and exhilarating though for small children, are slowed to gentler speeds.
Harrison Lake Tours & Charters The 17m/56ft Laroan departs from an adjacent dock, providing daily two-hour tours around the southern waters of Harrison Lake, all-day tours to Port Douglas, the most northerly point on the lake, and eagle-viewing excursions up Harrison River. The vessel has an upper viewing deck as well as a well-equipped cabin. It is also wheelchair accessible.
