Whistler Jet Boating Jet boating is a terrific family escapade. The spray kicks up a storm as the 6.4m/21ft custom whitewater aluminum jet boat cuts through braided channels, tight canyons and exciting rapids of the Green River's glacial waterways. This is the only outfit permitted to travel to the base of Nairn Falls. Wildlife sightings could well be a part of the three-hour trips which depart daily, rain or shine, June-September. Whistler Jet Boating also offers three day boating and camping jaunts along the Thompson River. In winter, two extreme outfitters provide a no-holds-barred outback experience: Coast Range Heli-skiing Based in Pemberton, but also operating a shuttle out of Whistler, these heli-ski packages add an unparalleled dynamic to any skiing holiday. Take to the Skies  Pemberton Airport (1850 Airport Rd) is home base to Pemberton Soaring Centre and Whistler Skydiving, two operations that virtually guarantee airborne thrills.
Whistler Skydiving Even though skydivers are harnessed to an experienced instructor, falling headlong out of an aircraft is a sport with serious adrenaline factor. With Whistler Skydiving, the climb up to 3,200m/10,500ft is the prelude, freefall speeds of up to 193kph/120mph are the rush, and once those parachutes open, it's an amazingly gentle descent to the valley floor. Pemberton Soaring Centre As the province's only commercial soaring operation, Pemberton Soaring Centre flights go from mellow 30-minute flightseeing tour with unobstructed views over the mountains, to longer gliding experiences across deeply creviced glaciers. For head-spinning adventure, the 15-minute aerobatic flight delivers non-stop action. It's not for the faint-hearted though kids love this stuff, especially when combined with a glide over the glaciers; the ultimate mountain-air experience. Cayoosh Paragliding Expeditions Having led expeditions to all corners of the globe, Cayoosh Expeditions' guides know how to pick Pemberton's best paragliding routes. Expeditions start with a 4x4 up a forestry road to various launch sites, the most popular being a 20-minute drive up to Mackenzie mountain, some 686m/2,250ft above sea level. For extreme enthusiasts there are hike-in launch sites on the other side of the valley. All paraglides are tandem rides, suitable for children aged eight to well seasoned seniors.
