Meet the wildlife.

One of the advantages a trip to Vancouver offers is the chance to get to know locals you'd be less likely to meet elsewhere - the wildlife.

The city takes great pride in its wildlife habitats, providing safe and sanitary homes for inhabitants while providing visitors with an environment conducive to respecting - and learning about - our friends in the wild.

These habitats include the Vancouver Aquarium and Marine Science Centre as well as Grouse Mountain's Refuge for Endangered Wildlife.

Vancouver Aquarium Marine Science Centre

Located in Stanley Park an easy walk from downtown, the Vancouver Aquarium Marine Science Centre is dedicated to the conservation of aquatic life.

With over 60,000 aquatic creatures from over 800 species, exhibits abound.

Grouse Mountain Refuge for Endangered Wildlife

The Grouse Mountain Refuge for Endangered Wildlife is a conservation, education and research centre that also serves as the home to an array of wildlife native to the province.

Currently, two of the most popular inhabitants of the refuge are a pair of orphaned grizzly cubs. Grinder and Coola arrived in 2002 and quickly won the hearts of visitors.
