Heaps of snow from moist Pacific Ocean air along with its scenic coastal location creates an ideal playground for downhill skiers and snowboarders at Mount Washington. The resort offers many other winter activities such as cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, sledding and tubing.
New For The 2008/09 SeasonThe Goodtime Glades is an area ideal for beginner and intermediate riders and offers well groomed gently-sloped runs. The Stomping Ground Terrain Park has been expanded with more multi-drop, down-flat, new flat and battleship boxes. A new shuttle service will make it even easier to access the resort this winter. Check out the International Paralympic Committee World Cup for XC and Biathlon being held in March, 2009.
During the summer months, hiking the mountain’s many trails offers rugged terrain and some of the most spectacular scenery on Vancouver Island. A variety of routes offer a range of hiking experiences from gentle grades along flowering meadows to steep verticals overlooking Strathcona Provincial Park.
Mountain biking at the resort offers 505mi1,657ft of vertical adrenaline rush with trails accessed by a scenic chair-lift ride overlooking the valley and ocean 1,000mé3,281ft below. A variety of trails ensure riders of all levels can explore this biking haven.
