Wine touring in the Fraser Valley (which is the largest agricultural region in BC), can be tempting, particularly if you intersperse winery visits with meals at country bistros and stops at such intriguing locales as historic Fort Langley. If you’re starting from Vancouver, plan to spend at least half a day touring.
Wineries are scattered throughout the area, with the greatest concentration around Langley and Fort Langley.
To reach them, follow the burgundy-and-white Wine Route signs and map boards at rest stops on or near Hwy 1. Hwy 7 leads to vineyards in Pitt Meadows and Maple Ridge, while Hwy 99 takes you to wineries in Richmond, Delta and Ladner.
