Welcome to the Okanagan, a sun-blessed land of plenty with rolling hills of fruit trees and endless fields of tempting produce. A visit to the region’s numerous orchards, vineyards, fruit stands, farmers’ markets, and food artisans create the mouthwatering memories that draw visitors back year after year.

Thanks to the temperate climate, the Okanagan is particularly renowned for its wines. It is British Columbia’s largest wine-producing area, and one of North America’s emerging wine regions of note: Sherman's Travel named it one of the Top 10 Emerging Wine Regions in the world as well as one of the Top 10 Places to Go in  2008, and Frommer’s named it a Top Travel Destination in 2007.

Wine touring provides the perfect way to explore the region - just follow the signs on the well-marked Okanagan Wine Route. Cyclists will appreciate the way wineries are clustered, making the region an ideal destination for cycle touring.

Many wineries have opened restaurants with award-winning chefs crafting innovative menus around the winery’s vintages. Several of these chefs offer culinary workshops in the spectacular surroundings of the vineyards.

With sparkling lakes and hills covered in vineyards and orchards, there's no better way to appreciate all that the Okanagan has to offer than by gliding over the water on a breakfast, lunch or dinner cruise.
