If you love to shop, you've hit the regional jackpot. The area is home to a variety of shopping environments to suit all tastes.

The cosmopolitan city of Vancouver offers a dazzling array of shopping districts. In particular, the must-see shops are found on chic, downtown Robson Street and at the waterside locations of Granville Island, Westminster Quay and Lonsdale Quay.

On a smaller -but no less impressive- scale, are the superlative shops of the celebrated, pedestrian-only Whistler Village. Window shoppers can view everything from upscale clothing boutiques to high-end art galleries.

The Sunshine Coast is known for its thriving arts community, including a rich Aboriginal culture. Here shoppers will find a large collection of paintings, sculptures, carvings, pottery, weavings and jewellery.

If the accumulation of fresh vegetables and sweet fruit is how you define a successful shopping venture, then head to the Fraser Valley, just east of Greater Vancouver. Purchase locally-grown produce from any of the countless, well-stocked farmers' markets.
