While Vancouverites are famous for their active lifestyles, they also take time to sit up and cheer - as evidenced by the city's crowded sporting venues. Vancouver offers a number of professional and spectator sport options, including local National Hockey League (NHL) and Canadian Football League (CFL) teams, as well as a handful of excellent regional teams.

Tickets are generally available through a ticketing agent or at each venue's box office. Check online or at the venue for up-to-date best seating options and prices.

Some venues and games sell out months in advance, so consider purchasing tickets as soon as you know when you're going to visit the city. 
 


Vancouver Canucks

Canadians love their hockey, and Vancouverites are particularly passionate about the Canucks, the city's National Hockey League team. The Canucks play 42 regular season home games as well as exhibition and playoff games, and they're all usually sell-outs.

BC Lions

Fans roar for the BC Lions, Vancouver's professional football team. As part of the Canadian Football League, the Lions play eight regular season games at home. The Grey Cup, Canada's Super Bowl, is held each November at a CFL venue selected in advance.

Vancouver Giants

Vancouver Canadians

The Vancouver Canadians Baseball Club offers inexpensive, quality entertainment for baseball fans of all ages. A Single-A team and Northwest League affiliate of the Oakland Athletics, the Canadians play 38 home games in a season.

Vancouver Whitecaps

The Vancouver Whitecaps, the city's professional soccer club, fields both a men's and a women's team. The Whitecaps' 1979 win of the NASL Soccer Bowl Championship is credited with launching the city's proud soccer history.

2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games

In 2003, the the dream was ignited in Vancouver and Whistler. In 2010,  the dream becomes reality. The world's finest athletes will gather in Vancouver and Whistler for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, held between February 12-28. A month later, Vancouver-Whistler will again shine on the world stage, hosting the Paralympic Winter Games from March 12-21.

Venues in and around Vancouver will host Freestyle Skiing, Snowboard and ice sports such as Hockey, Figure Skating, Curling, Speed Skating, and Short Track Speed Skating. Whistler will showcase Alpine Skiing, Biathlon, Cross-country Skiing, Nordic Combined, Ski Jumping, Bobsleigh, Luge and Skeleton.

Plan to experience this once-in-a-lifetime event in one of the world's most spectacular sports venues.

Tickets to these amazing events will be available beginning in October, 2008.
