British Columbia has a grand history of breweries, which benefit from the province’s clean, flowing waters.
In addition to the larger regional and national brewers, microbreweries and brewpubs abound in BC. There are at least 50 of these in the province, each of which craft unique (and often award-winning) small-batch ales, lagers and stouts, prized for their rich and unique flavours.
Many of these microbrewers also pride themselves on using only natural processes and the best ingredients BC has to offer.
Scrumptious ciders
It's not just about the beer in BC. The province is also home to a burgeoning cider industry, which takes advantage of the bounty of fruit harvested in the Okanagan and on southern Vancouver Island.
Ciders can be enjoyed all year round but you will tend to see more ciders in shops during the summer months.
One of the best ways to see what BC has to offer is to pay some of our breweries and cideries a visit. Learn how they craft their brews and perhaps even try a sample or two!
