Whistler Architectural & Structural Explorations

Whistler Village Square
Town Plaza, Yoko Yamamoto photo
While the villages of Whistler and Blackcomb are relatively new, the Coast Salish First Nations inhabited much of the land around Whistler for thousands of years. In the early 1900s the region was a base for loggers and miners. Whistler also owes much to the pioneering spirit legendary fish guides Myrtle and Alex Philip. Their 1914 Rainbow Lodge still stands on the shores of Alta Lake.
