The architecture and structures in Northern BC include two dams that are superb engineering feats. Then there is the Alaska Highway, possibly the most important structure to symbolize the link between Canada and the United States. The history of Northern BC is that of the frontier: the many historical and heritage sites include the remains of Kitwanga Fort National Historic Site, Walter Wright Pioneer Village and Northern Pacific Historic Fishing Village. Those interested in Haida culture should visit Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve and Haida Heritage Site, part of the Queen Charlotte Islands.
