Thunderbird Show Park
Thunderbird Show Park (24550 72nd Ave) is a great place for an affordable equestrian outing with the entire family. At this 34ha/85ac facility with 10 outdoor show rings and two indoor arenas, watch show jumping tournaments between May and October, attend dressage competitions throughout the year, and don't forget about the breed shows, rodeos and horse auctions. Young children love the pony rides, and snacks and drinks are sold on site. Eric Lamaze, who won gold in individual show jumping at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, is among the stars that have also triumphed in events at Thunderbird Show Park.
Milner Downs Equestrian Center
Summer brings exciting hunter/jumper competitions to Milner Downs Equestrian Center (21795 64th Ave) each year. The 15ha/38ac show park includes two outdoor sand rings and two outdoor grass rings, plus an indoor ring with a large viewing area. Head trainer Bobbie Reber has trained dozens of championship-calibre horses from across Canada and the United States.

Those who are truly passionate about their equine friends shouldn't miss the Spirit of the Horse Memorial Garden (1200 208th Ave) in Campbell Park. More than 300 plaques commemorate beloved, deceased horses, and equestrian statues and granite benches further enhance the tranquil, contemplative atmosphere. Pacific Riding for Developing Abilities and the Valley Therapeutic Equestrian Association are two Langley-based organizations that cater to people with disabilities.
