Cariboo Chilcotin Coast Horseback Riding

Echo Valley Ranch

You're in true cowboy country here. Vast expanses of this region are home to huge cattle ranches. Guest ranches also abound. Canter over spectacular open meadows during supervised half - or full-day rides. Or head into backcountry on a guided, multi-day packtrip, riding over sagebrush-covered hills, through spectacular canyons and on up to gentle plateaus; look for all sorts of wildlife en route. Stay at a working cattle ranch, where you can round up cattle as well as ride, or fish in remote lakes and streams accessible only by horseback. This is also rodeo country: check them out at Anahim Lake and Bella Coola as well at the sizeable Williams Lake Stampede.

South Cariboo

  • This is ranch country as you've always imagined it, with expansive rolling hills and large, open grasslands. Whether you're on a cattle drive, trail ride or pack trip, enjoy sunny skies and a dry climate while you spot moose, bears, deer, wolves, mountain goats and Bighorn sheep
  • Trail rides last from an hour to a full day - and riders of all abilities and experiences are welcome
  • Lodgings range from the rustic and family-oriented to deluxe ranches that offer full spas, golf and gourmet dining. Whichever ranch you choose, you'll experience a unique taste of cowboy lifestyle.

South Chilcotin

  • Ride the untamed mountain wilderness of the Chilcotin on a multi-day pack trip
  • Stay safe on a professionally-guided and outfitted adventure
  • Immerse yourself in the cowboy lifestyle - awaken to the smell of fresh coffee, breathe crisp mountain air and hear cowboy poetry around the campfire at night before retiring to your tent or cabin
  • Pan for gold, hear the stories of claims found and fortunes lost, fish in clear lakes as you ride along this vast, inspiring landscape.
