Hiking in Fernie Alpine Resort, Henry Georgi photo
Alpine-hiking enthusiasts have fallen under the spell woven by Fernie's Rocky Mountain magic. Six lift-access routes allow hikers to meander through high alpine trails, past meadows and forest that open to mythical views overlooking Elk Valley. During weekends in the summer, there are guided, interpretive hikes that cover such natural subjects as: bushes and berries; geology and fossils; forest and fauna; as well as alpine wildflowers.
