Vancouver, Coast & Mountains Driving Range

Big Sky Golf & Country Club photo
Vancouver, Coast & Mountains offers a multitude of unique and challenging golf courses set against rugged mountain peaks, rolling countryside, rushing rivers and ocean vistas. Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and Michael Hurdzan are just a few of the world-class golf course architects whose designs can be seen — and played — in the southwest corner of the province. Thanks to great courses and a temperate climate, the region is a year-round golfing hotbed, home to an astounding seven of SCORE Golf magazine's "Top 100 Courses in Canada" (2008).

Golf in these Regional Areas:
Metro Vancouver
Sea to Sky Country
Mighty Fraser Country
Sunshine Coast

Golfing Tips:

>Tee times should be booked in advance of arrival, especially during July and August. Many courses have a dress code in effect, so be sure to check with the course or resort so you know what to bring.
>While the golf season tends to run from April to October, the region's incomparably mild climate enables many golf clubs to stay open all year long.

Golf in Metro Vancouver

The Vancouver area is home to an abundance of excellent golfing opportunities, including Surrey's Northview Golf & Country Club, a seven-time host of the PGA Tour's Greater Vancouver Open/Air Canada Championship. Just minutes away, award-winning Canadian architect Les Furber sculpted the beautiful Meadow Gardens, site of the annual Canadian Tour's TELUS Vancouver Open – in nearby Richmond.

Golf in Sea to Sky Country

The four courses in and around Whistler feature rugged Coast Mountain settings coupled with challenging golf. Tee off at Nicklaus North Golf Course, where Stephen Ames, John Daly, Vijay Singh and Jack Nicklaus himself competed in the 2005 TELUS Skins Game, or play a round at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler Golf Club, voted among the top ten golf resorts in the world by the readers of Condé Nast Traveler.

Between Vancouver and Squamish, Furry Creek Golf & Country Club features spectacular mountain and coastal scenery. Jutting majestically into the waters of Howe Sound, its signature fourteenth hole boosts Furry Creek's reputation as "BC's most scenic golf course."

Golf in Mighty Fraser Country

The Redwoods in Langley, designed by Canadian golf course architect Ted Locke is a walkable championship course shaped through stands of stately trees that give the course its name.  And close to Harrison Hot Springs, a new course by Canadian architect Russ Olson takes its name from the intriguing birds that flock to the shores of Harrison River. The Sandpiper Golf Club is built on the site of an early Hudson’s Bay Company fish saltery.

Golf on the Sunshine Coast

Spectacular mountain and sea scapes reward golfers at the Sunshine Coast Golf & Country Club. And the beautiful Sechelt Golf & Country Club nestles high above the town of Sechelt, commanding views longer than any golfer can imagine their drives carrying. A scenic ferry ride north at Powell River, the Myrtle Point Golf Club offers a championship course that is enjoyable for all golfers

Golfers travelling to the Sunshine Coast can take advantage of the same day car portion of the ferry ride from Horseshoe Bay to Langdale being deducted from the green fees of all visiting foursomes, Monday to Friday.
