Two major public golf courses attract golfers to Burnaby. The combination of sumptuous greenery and affordable pricing makes it easy to get into the swing of things. Riverway Golf Course At Riverway Golf Course (9001Riverway Place), golfers can enjoy an 18-hole championship course featuring mountain views and great landscaping. The course, laden with white tan bunkers and water hazards, has a par-72 rating, and yardage ranges from 5,400 to 7,000. Riverway Golf Course was designed by Les Furber, who has laid out more than 60 other courses in Western Canada. There's also a 54-stall covered driving range, plus a pro shop and restaurant.
Burnaby Mountain Golf Course Burnaby Mountain Golf Course (7600 Halifax St.) marked its 40th anniversary in 2009. Tree-lined fairways and gently undulating greens make this 18-hole course particularly attractive. It has a par-71 rating, and yardage ranges from 5,830 to 6,431. Sightings of ducks, geese, and other wildlife are common. Additionally, players can practice hitting the ball at the 45-tee driving range, take golf lessons with pros, or relax at the on-site pub or restaurant after playing a few rounds.
Pitch and Putt There are two par-3 pitch and putt golf courses located at Central Park (3883 Imperial St.) and Kensington Park (5889 Curtis St.). Each course features 18 holes. There are daytime and evening rates.
