Cache Creek/Ashcroft area rodeos are among the most popular in British Columbia. Take the whole family to Dead Man's Creek Rodeo or Hat Creek Rodeo, both located just outside Cache Creek, or celebrate the community of Ashcroft at the Ashcroft Stampede.

Cache Creek Rodeos

Dead Man's Creek Rodeo, held in spring on the Skeetchestn First Nation Band rodeo grounds, is a family focused event. The rodeo grounds are 20 minutes from Cache Creek and five minutes from the community of Savona on Highway 1. Hat Creek Rodeo, a two-day event held in mid-July, is set at the historic Hat Creek Ranch, at the Junction of Highway 97 and 99, 11 km/6mi north of Cache Creek and is a combination of special events, historic tours of the ranch, and First Nations demonstrations.

Ashcroft Stampede

Ashcroft Stampede, held in late June, is a showcase for more than ranching life and western culture; it's a celebration of the Ashcroft community. Known locally as the "Biggest Little Rodeo in the West", the weekend's events kick off with a pancake breakfast. The Annual Rodeo Parade travels along Ashcroft's main street, Railway Avenue. The rodeo itself features the usual rough stock events – bareback riding, saddle bronc, and bull riding, as well as calf roping, ream roping, and ladies barrel racing. Saturday night sees the Annual Rodeo Dance held at the Drylands Arena.

Check with the Cache Creek Visitor Centre for more information about rodeos in the area.
