Trains Deluxe is a national award-winning museum, different from other railway museums. It displays complete vintage "sets" known as "Deluxe Hotels-On-Wheels" from the 1880's to the 1930's, filled with exotic inlaid woods, stained & bevelled glass, plush carpets & upholstery. Awards that the museum has garnered include but are not limited to: 2007 Heritage Canada's 2007 "Gold Medal Achievement Award for the restoration of the Royal Alexandra Hall; 2007 "Order of Canada" to Garry Anderson Executive Director for the development of the Canadian Museum of Rail Travel & the Cranbrook Archives, Museum and Landmark Foundation.

Cancellation Policy
Only groups over 10 & bus tour reservations are taken; others are booked on available spaces in the daily schedule.

Group Policy
Tour capacity is limited to 10 per tour guide due to limited & fragile spaces in the cars.

Age Restrictions
Children under 5 must be accompanied by an adult on tours of the railcars.

Clothing/Gear Restrictions
Depending on their size & containers, large items such as cameras, large bags, or other pieces of equipment may be refused on the tours in the railcars due to fragile wood wall panels & small spaces. It is best to leave such items in vehicles. Strollers, most walkers & wheelchairs cannot be allowed in the railcars due to potential damage to the walls.

Mobility Restrictions
Due to the relatively long distances in touring the historic trains, visitors should be prepared to walk the distances involved with the guide within the pre-set tour schedule. These walking distances range from as little as 48.8 m (160 ft) for the shortest tour section, to as much as 640 m (2,100 ft) for the "Grand Tour," comprising of 5 tour sections. Detailed information is available at the ticket counter or by phone.
