Stop by the Summerland Museum, where the spirit of our pioneers comes alive! Starting with the days of the Okanagan First Nations, to first contact with the fur traders along the Brigade Trail, Summerland's history goes back to BC's beginnings over 150 years ago. Discover Summerland's early settlement days when the Development Company under Sir Thomas Shaughnessy enticed optimistic fruit ranchers to the Okanagan Valley. Visit a tent house, the first home of many Summerlanders. Trace the history of the Kettle Valley Railway & Dominion Experimental Farm as the town grew through two townsites & blossomed into a charming community.
