Known world-wide for its spectacular sub-alpine wildflower meadows & ancient cedar-hemlock forests. In summer, you can easily reach the park's mountain-top wilderness gardens by driving up the 26 km Meadows in the Sky Parkway, with views of the snow-capped Selkirk & Monashee Mountains on every horizon. In the valley below, tropical migratory birds, beavers & bears inhabit Skunk Cabbage Boardwalk's jungle-like wetlands, while Giant Cedars Boardwalk leads through a towering grove of red cedars, some more than 800 years old. During winter, mountain caribou still roam the forests & meadows of these protected lands.
