This unique program is the first of its kind in British Columbia, and will feature 72 sites throughout the Gold Country Region. Launch date was July 4, 2009. Come relive the gold rush with a modern day treasure hunt! This event features GPS use tips, geocaching basics, mini-event finds, a chance to win unique collector coins, other great prizes.
Launches will be held simultaneously in Cache Creek, Clinton, Lillooet, Logan Lake, Lytton and Merritt. Other activities include GPS user tips, mini-caches, promotional gifts, FREE cake and more! A one-of-a-kind event you don't want to miss!

On Solid Ground is an exhibition that looks at the history of rock climbing in the Okanagan and the geological formations that make the region a climbing hot spot.
This exhibition features local climbing pioneers who mapped many of the climbing routes and interactive components that explore "trad" climbing, sport climbing, and bouldering. There will be a map of climbing places to visit in the Okanagan, as well as an interactive message board for contributing climbing stories and tips.
Mark your calendars for August 25th, when internationally renowned climber Sonnie Trotter will give a presentation at the Okanagan Heritage Museum.

Located in the Nicola Valley of British Columbia, Merritt is one of only a few communities that holds a Lit-Up Christmas Parade during the evening after dark. Beginning at about 7 pm, the parade lasts up to 2 hours with most floats displaying lights, music, animated characters and people of all ages performing. Merritt's country Christmas event is usually held the last week-end of November. The parade is part of this two day event with family fun, arts, and entertainment.
