The site of Peace Canyon Dam tells the story of the canyon dating back to the time of the dinosaur. 2 life-sized models of the Hadrosaur Dinosaur, fossils & photos tell this story in our visitor centre. The Peace Canyon Dam itself has the enormous job of holding back not only its own 22 km reservoir, but also the massive Williston Lake reservoir, located behind the W.A.C. Bennett dam upstream.
The W.A.C. Bennett Dam, which holds back Williston Lake, impounds BC's largest reservoir (1,761 sq km) and took 5 years to fill. Take an exciting underground bus tour of one of the world’s largest earth-filled structures. The tour drives right through the canyon wall, to the powerhouse located 500 ft underground.
