Bone Meadow Ranch & Gardens is a 27 ha farmstead nestled on the edge of a Boreal forest in the heart of British Columbia's Cariboo. Although only 32 km from downtown Quesnel, it's easy to imagine oneself in the centre of a vast wilderness. Deer, moose & black bears are frequent visitors to the area, as are many species of birds. The farm produces organically grown vegetables & herbs, many of which are heirloom varieties. A personable herd of meat goats & grass-fed cattle add diversity to the operation. Moose Meadows Farm, your evergreen product & birch syrup specialist is located approximately 15 km west of Quesnel. It currently is the only accredited agri-tourism farm in the Cariboo-Chilcotin region. By farming with the season the farm offers a variety of products & incorporates both conventional & non-conventional agricultural practices. This includes agro-forestry, agri-tourism & non-timber forest products. Marketing of its products are done at the farm gate, through farmers markets & via the internet. The Antler Shed Gift Shop is also on-site which markets all Canadian made products.
Raptor Ridge has a large variety of pond plants. The owner Leah has been growing pond plants for thirteen years & has extensive knowledge. As well as hardy plants she also has annuals such as water hyacinth & lettuce. You may book an appointment to view & learn about pond building, stocking with plants & fish and how to create a natural biological filter. Tour the various ponds & creeks that are on the property. Mid August is wild berry picking time at the campsite with an abundance of saskatoons & blueberries.
