More than a million people visit this 22-ha (55-ac) floral display garden each year. Begun in 1904, the gardens have grown to a world class scale and have been designated a National Historic Site. The gardens are spectacular at any time of year, starting in January with the indoor Spring Prelude display, through the magnificent spring and summer months, the dramatic colours of autumn, and culminating in the Magic of Christmas with tens of thousands of lights, a Twelve Days of Christmas display and an outdoor skating rink.

One of Canada’s best collections of rhododendrons, many of which were started from seed obtained from famous plant explorers, is on display in the University of Victoria’s Finnerty Gardens. Over 4,000 different trees & shrubs, with more than 1,500 rhododendron & azalea plants & a spectacular range of companion plants are artistically displayed along tranquil paths that wind through this 2.6 ha campus jewel.
A National Historic Site and Canada's only intact Edwardian garden, Hatley Park National Historic Site features hundreds of heritage trees, a number of formal gardens, a salt marsh estuary and 100-year-old Hatley Castle.
Former girls school & convent, St. Ann's Academy National Historic site is located just 1 block from the Inner Harbour. St. Ann's features 2.5 ha (6.25 acres) of restored grounds & historic interiors featuring the 1858 restored chapel, Victoria's original Catholic cathedral. Celebrating Chapel's 150th anniversary "Tidings of Comfort & Joy" Sunday afternoon concert series at 2pm.
