The Fort St. John North Peace Museum is dedicated to the collection, preservation, storage & display of items relating to the history of the North Peace for the education & enjoyment of present & future generations. The 446 m (136 ft) high oil derrick outside of the Museum has become the symbol of our city. The Museum is happy to host tours but please call ahead. The Haida Heritage Centre at Kaay Llnagaay in Skidegate on Haida Gwaii (Queen Charlotte Islands), opened in July, 2007. The Centre, located at the site of the old Haida seaside village of Kaay Llnagaay, or "Sea Lion Town", showcases the living culture of the Haida, dating back over 12,000 years. Six monumental cedar totem poles carved by Haida artists stand in front of the Haida longhouses, which are connected by interior walkways & atrium space. The Centre incorporates the Haida Gwaii Museum, a gift shop, canoe house, carving shed, performing house, the Bill Reid Teaching Centre & a cafe.

Hudson's Hope Museum is housed in an old Hudson's Bay Trading Store on the banks of the Peace River. Explore local pioneering, First Nations & fur trading artifacts together with dinosaur fossils/tracks. Personal guided tours of exhibits & on-site pioneer cabins available; gift shop with souvenirs, local artisan products & First Nations crafts; attend Bedaux Expedition 75th Anniversary Exhibition, opening May; wheelchair accessible; admission by donation.
