Founded in 1867, the ranch was at the end of the wagon road into the Okanagan Valley & the site of the stage coach depot. Like most early ranches, it was a small community with a post office, blacksmith shop & even its own church. The SS Sicamous, the largest remaining steel-hulled sternwheeler in Canada is located on the southern shores of Lake Okanagan in Penticton, British Columbia. Step back in time, experience life as it was lived aboard these historic vessels in the early part of the 20th Century. Tour these lovingly restored vessels or take in a concert or play onboard The S.S. Sicamous, or tour the other ships onsite. These 4 vessels are historical artifacts & form the Okanagan Inland Marine Heritage Park. In the late 1800's and early 1900's, over 500 sternwheeler's served the inland waters of The Columbia River system in Western Canada. The S.S. Sicamous and her sister ship The S.S. Naramata are two of only 3 remaining in British Columbia.
