Getting to WhistlerWhistler is a 2-hour drive along the Sea to Sky Highway (Highway 99) from Vancouver. Flights to Vancouver International Airport are available from almost any major city. Scheduled bus services from Vancouver and connecting locales arrive in Whistler daily. The Whistler and Valley Express (WAVE) provides year-round public bus service throughout Whistler, as well as between Whistler and Pemberton.
Blending the charm of an alpine village with the amenities of an urban centre, the pedestrianized Whistler Village offers. fine dining, vibrant nightlife, eclectic boutiques, revitalising spas, and luxurious hotels. Catch events like the TELUS World Ski and Snowboard Festival in April and the Arts and Music Festival in July.

2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games  Look to Whistler for outdoor events including alpine skiing (downhill, super-G, giant slalom, slalom, super combined), biathlon, cross-country skiing, nordic combined, ski jumping, bosbsleigh, skeleton and luge. Whistler also has a Medals Plaza and an athletes' village.
Past Olympic athletes such as Dave Murray (part of the "Crazy Canucks" alpine ski racing team) and Ross Rebagliati (snowboard gold medal winner) have called Whistler their home. Whistler's tradition of producing top-calibre athletes continues with the brother-sister alpine ski racing duo of Britt and Michael Janyk, both competing in 2010.

Winter Activities  Ski or snowboard on Whistler and Blackcomb mountains. There are a remarkable 200 marked trails with access from 37 lifts. Its 3,307 ha of diverse terrain tempt skiers of all levels, from novices to experts. Or try snowmobiling, snowshoeing, ice skating, sleigh rides and cross-country skiing. Whistler Blackcomb is open to skiers and snowboarders before, during and after the Olympics.

Whistler Attractions  Hop on a summit-bound chairlift or gondola, or ride the Peak 2 Peak Gondola between Whistler and Blackcomb mountains. Enjoy the panoramic vistas of glacier-capped mountain ranges and the Whistler Valley.

Land Activities  Take a picnic and cycle, walk, jog or blade the Valley Trail, which gently traverses the Valley. It becomes an excellent Nordic (cross-country) ski route during the winter season.
