Surrey
The city of Surrey (population: 394,976) spreads out between the south bank of the Fraser River and the Canada/US border crossing. It is about a 60-minute drive from downtown Vancouver and a 30-to-45-minute drive from Vancouver International Airport. Surrey is two-and-a-half times the geographic size of Vancouver, and is BC’s second most populous city. The municipality consists of six communities: City Centre (Whalley), Fleetwood, Guildford, Newton, Cloverdale and South Surrey.

The community calls itself the “City of Parks,” and aptly so: it supports more than 500 parks and greenbelts. Surrey is also known as a thriving agri-tourism destination. Visitors can pick and purchase fresh produce from the many farms in the area.
