Princeton
Princeton (population: 2,677) is nestled in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains, where the Tulameen and Similkameen Rivers meet. The area, which teems with wildlife even today, sustained countless generations of Aboriginal people before the town was established in 1860. Princeton’s population swelled after gold was discovered at Granite Creek in 1885.
Modern Princeton is a scenic and peaceful place surrounded by hundreds of kilometres of idyllic hiking trails, clear mountain streams and sparkling, fish-filled lakes. The spirit of the Old West is still very much alive there: in museums and historic buildings and in nearby ranches, mining attractions and ghost towns.
