If you delight in natural splendour, pristine wilderness and wild rides from hang-gliding to white water paddling, Lumby (population: 1,634) is the destination for you.

The village of Lumby located east of Vernon in BC’s north Okanagan, is a great starting off point for the Monashee Mountains where you’ll discover wilderness parks, hiking trails and countless recreational activities.

Monashee and Mabel Lake provincial parks are two of the areas most beautiful mountain settings. Walk through old growth forest at Mabel Lake Provincial Park, or explore the remote wilderness beauty of Monashee Provincial Park where the high alpine meadows are painted with wildflowers in spring.

You can horseback ride, take a hang gliding lesson, fish for rainbow trout or visit the Shuswap Falls/Wilsey Dam.

In winter, the rush continues with snowmobiling in Lumby or visit the nearby Silver Star Mountain Resort for fine skiing and snowboarding.
