Langley
Langley (population: 117,332) is located in the Fraser Valley, about a one-hour drive southeast from Vancouver. It stretches from the Fraser River to the US border (north-south), and from Abbotsfordto Surrey (east-west). Europeans first settled in this area in 1827, when the Hudson Bay Company built a fort as part of its fur-trading network. Fort Langley shot to fame in 1858, when it became the supply centre for thousands of miners heading to the Fraser River gold fields.

Today, Langley -the heart of equestrian country- is often referred to as the “Horse Capital of BC.” The region is also becoming known as a wine-touring destination. Langley offers many sites of historic interest as well, including the charming village of Fort Langley and the fort itself, which is now a National Historic Site.
