Kicking Horse Mountain Resort is located on the eastern-most slopes of the Purcell Mountains. The first four-season resort to open in the Rockies in 25 years, Kicking Horse is dramatically surrounded by six national parks: Yoho, Kootenay, Glacier and Mt. Revelstoke, Jasper and Banff.

During the winter, Kicking Horse offers a breathtaking 1,260 m (4,134 ft) of vertical and is famed for its champagne powder. Thanks to this and more, Kicking Horse has been recognized with "Best Steeps" by Ski Canada magazine (2007).

From late spring to early fall, the resort is also a key destination  for a variety of outdoor pursuits thanks to its close proximity to national and provincial parks.

Getting to the Resort

Kicking Horse Mountain Resort is located 15 minutes north of Golden, BC, 3 hours west of Calgary, Alberta and 1 hour west of Lake Louise, Alberta (by car).

The nearest international airports are the Calgary International Airport (3 hours and 15 minutes by car) or the Canadian Rockies International Airport (near Cranbrook; 3 hours by car). 

Winter shuttle services to the resort are available from Golden, the Calgary International Airport, Banff and Lake Louise. There is also a Greyhound bus depot in Golden.

Car rentals are available from the Calgary International AirportCanadian Rockies International Airport and Golden.

Accommodations of all types for all budgets are available at the resort or in nearby Golden (14 km/9 mi from the resort). There are numerous ski-in/ski-out or on mountain options.
