Greenwood
Greenwood (population: 625) is the smallest incorporated city in Canada. It is found on Highway #3 in the Boundary area between the Okanagan Valley and the West Kootenay regions. Tourists are drawn to the town for its wonderfully preserved Victorian-era heritage buildings as well as its inspiring natural setting. A site worth visiting is in the nearby village of Midway, close to the Canada/US border. Here stand two entwined pine trees. When the international border was created, part of a Canadian First Nations band moved to the United States. One Native entwined two sapling pines and said, “Though divided, we are united still – we are one.”
