Fort Langley
Fort Langley (population: 2,700) is located in a rural setting along the south bank of the Fraser River, about a one-hour drive southeast of Vancouver. Europeans first settled in this area in 1827, when the Hudson Bay Company built a fort as part of its fur-trading network.
Today, Fort Langley is home to the Fort Langley National Historic Site and absorbing museums that showcase BC history. The village itself is charming, with restored heritage buildings, attractive tree-lined streets and an eclectic collection of restaurants, stores and services. The area is home to five notable wineries within close driving distance to each other and also offers plenty of outdoor recreational activities such as hiking, biking and horseback riding.
