Chilliwack
Chilliwack (population: 69,217) is located in the upper Fraser Valley, on the south bank of the Fraser River. The city lies 1.5 hours east of Vancouver, 35 minutes south of Harrison Hot Springs and 30 minutes north of the Canada/U.S. border. The local economy is driven largely by agriculture, while day-to-day life has a laid-back, country rhythm. The area has been inhabited by the Sto:lo ("People of the River") Aboriginal people since long before the arrival of European settlers in the late 1850s.
