The Golden Golf Club is one of the top courses in the Kootenays. With no surrounding housing developments, it is just you, your clubs, the mountains and a little white ball to keep looking for.

For all the times i have played Sun Rivers, never have i had the opportunity to witness all the Big Horn sheep. There must have been 40+ grazing and roaming thru the 9th hole as the video clip below will show.
What a site to see. But do not get too close!!!

The Family Golf Day at Arbutus Ridge set an attendance record this year. A great video of the event was put together, check it out. There was a golf clinic, tee shirt/hat gift, hot dogs, ice cream, golf clinic, skills competition, 9 holes of golf and snacks and prizes afterwards. This is an annual event that happens every June. I was there this year and will be back next year with the kids! I felt compelled to share the video as it was such a good time. Thank you Arbutus Ridge for the day and putting the video together!

Tin Cup Greens Golf Course in the Cariboo is located just 13 km from 70 Mile House towards Green Lake on Bonaparte Rd.
Tin Cup Greens is a par 3-9 hole family owned course in beautiful ranch country. The setting is rustic but the course is well cared for. You can camp or stay in a cabin right on the fairway! Golf for as low as $15.

We played the Arbutus Ridge Golf Club near Victoria on Vancouver Island and caught some video of an amazing rainbow from the patio. Then we saw a group of golfers fly off in a helicopter! Must be nice.
The views from clubhouse and golf course are fantastic. You can see the ocean and nearby islands in the background. We had dinner at the Satellite Bar & Grille at the Arbutus Ridge Golf Club and it was very good. I have to say I don't normally expect much from a golf course restaurant but the menu, food quality and selection of local wines far exceeded my expectations.
The golf course is surrounded by 9 wineries, so we visited a few. The Pinor Noir from Avrill Creek is fantastic! Cherry Point and Merridale Cider have great venues for tastings as well. Check the golf course and nearby wineries out if you can!

Hello, my name is Scott Schilds and I am a terrible golfer. After many years of failure, I have grown accustomed to this fact, and have been able to lead a healthy life despite my shortcomings on the links. So you can understand my trepidation as I learned that my first experience with my new co-workers at the DC Visitor Info Center was a trip to the Lone Wolf Golf Club. This was before I realised that this is a club that's about so much more than golf.
This, of coures, isn't to say that the golf facilities aren't incredible. It's a 18 hole, par 72, championship course complete with 86 sand bunkers and a CPGA pro on staff. The course is located in the picturesque Peace River valley, which keeps the winds low, and also allows the opportunity to see many kinds of wildlife along your way, including moose, deer, eagles and elk.
After our collective golfing adventure, me and the other counsellors headed into the licensed clubhouse to experience some of the hospitality offered by the friendly staff. Now, I may not be the next PGA star, but I do know good food. And the full restaurant on site served up some good food. For my money, there is no better day than one spent outdoors, capped off with a delicious meal and a playoff hockey game on TV at a local restaurant, and that is exactly what we were provided by our welcoming hosts at the Lone Wolf Golf Club.
And if it helps, that day held the best golf I'd ever played.

In September 2005, my wife & I went to Kelowna. Of course, my plans were to golf at least one round of golf while there, which I did with my cousin who had recently moved there. He was actually a Marshall at the Sunset Ranch Golf & Country Club in Kelowna. It was a beautiful day. The course was right in the city at the bottom end of the Mountain Range that overlooks the city. I had golfed a bit that summer as I had retired in April so I was anxious to play at Sunset. My experience was fantastic.
The course was impeccable. The greens were pristeen and the tee-boxes were great. I didn't really have my best of the year that day, but I enjoyed spending some time with my cousin., playing on his golf course, so to speak. There were some very challenging holes - tough bunkers and the like. I found the greens to be very lush as were the fairways. Lots of up and down play, but that was okay, as we rode that day. I would recommend this golf course to anyone who comes to visit the Kelowna area.

Living in the Okanagan has its advantages, and being able to golf practically year round is definitely one of them!
I live in Penticton, which boasts a number of beautiful golf courses, and one of my favorites has to be Sage Mesa with its outstanding lake and city views.
We try to get out at least a few times a month during the peak season (so pretty much April until November and longer if we are lucky J )
It is a nine-hole golf course that offers a challenging game, with a great mix of holes from par 3, to par 5 shots, with the majority being par 4. It is a nice wide and open golf course (leaving me plenty or room for error J )
You have a sense of being out on the dessert, being surround by lots of sagebrush, and clay banks, but those lake views are incredible!

Chuck and I took a 5 day cruise from Seattle to Nanaimo and Victoria last fall. As always when we travel, we took our travel golf bags with 5 clubs - putter, driver, #2 or #3 fairway wood, #7 iron and pitching wedge.
I looked on the internet before leaving, and found golf courses we wanted to play, called ahead and made our reservations. As we disembarked, other passengers were wistfully thinking out loud, "Gee, I wish I would have thought of that!"
My most memorable moment (as it was a first for me) was at Olympic View Golf Course in Victoria, where I made a 68 yard chip in on the 8th hole!
