 Mount Robson, Toshi photo Valemount is also the entry point to Mount Robson Provincial Park, Mount Robson (at an elevation of 3,954m/12972ft), the highest point in the Rocky Mountains, towers above the western entrance of the park. Mount Robson Provincial Park has excellent hiking and fishing in summer, and backcountry skiing and snowshoeing in winter. Climate and Weather Average temperatures in Valemount are surprisingly moderate. In July, for example, the average daily high is about 24°C/75°F, while the low is 7.6°C/45°F, so a sweater or jacket in the evenings are recommended. In winter, the average the high temperature is -6.7°C/20°F, and the low temperature is -15.2°C/4.6°F. However, temperatures can vary significantly from day to day. And once in the mountains, temperatures change dramatically with elevation. It is best to dress in layers when participating in outdoor activities.
