Trail Dining

With a large Italian population, it's not surprising that the people of Trail enjoy their food and wine. The city has more than 30 restaurants, cafés, and pubs, including half a dozen fast food outlets.

Cafés and Coffee Shops

The Trail's End Café, at 1588 Bay Avenue, serves up good food in a cozy setting, including a wide variety of soups, salads, pastas, and wraps. Breakfast is the main event at the Glenwood Café, about five minutes south of downtown at 2769 Glenwood Drive. Café Americano is a downtown coffee shop and sometimes entertainment venue. Café Americano's coffee is supplied by Nelson's Oso Negro. The service is uniquely Trail – opening bright and early, and closing when the last customer leaves the premises.

Colander Restaurant

The much acclaimed Colander Restaurant has been a fixture on Cedar Avenue since 1972.  Open seven days a week, the Colander serves up authentic Italian dishes including all-you-can-eat spaghetti and meatballs, lasagna, and baked tortellini. This family dining experience is not to be missed. Reservations are recommended, but if you are not able to make it to the restaurant, you could always pick up "Colander to Go" from the restaurant's retail outlet at the Waneta Plaza Shopping Mall south of town.

Drop by the Trail Visitor Centre (200-1199 Bay Avenue) for a complete list of local eateries.
