Grizzly Plaza, Revelstoke, Don Weixl photo
From the predictable fast food outlets by the TransCanada highway to sophisticated fine dining, Revelstoke offers something for every taste. The Woolsey Creek Cafe, on West 2nd Street at Garden Avenue, may serve up the best food in town . Certainly, the emphasis is more on the food than the decor, but then that's as it should be. This bistro can be extremely busy, even on weeknights, and the quality of service is excellent. Reservations are recommended. Another downtown fine dining option is the upscale eatery, 112 Restaurant in the Regent Inn, at 112 East 1st Street. The restaurant serves hearty steaks, meat and fish dishes, and also has a lounge. Pubs and Ethnic Eateries Other choices include a newly renovated Korean sushi bar and Manning's Chinese restaurant, which, judging by the family name painted in faded script high on the side of the building, has deep roots in this community. There are more than 20 food options in Revelstoke, including the town's pubs, and one independent fast-food spot that serves up big, wholesome portions at very reasonable prices. Very popular with locals, the Nomad is at the corner of Wright Street and Victoria Road West. On a summer evening, part of the pleasure of dining out in Revelstoke is an after-dinner stroll through downtown – to the sound of nightly live music at Grizzly Plaza.
