Quesnel Dining

Quesnel is conveniently situated on Highway 97, the main north-south corridor through the interior of British Columbia, and as a result has a wide selection of dining out options. With more than local 30 restaurants and coffee houses in addition to national chains, Quesnel has something to suit every taste and budget. Many restaurants are located in Quesnel's downtown district.

Coffee shops

Need a morning start or a midday pick-me-up? Stop in at one of several coffee shops in downtown Quesnel. Granville's Coffee on Reid Street is known for its espresso bar, country breakfasts and sandwiches on thick homemade herb bread. Quesnel Bakery, also in the heart of town on Reid St, has been specializing in European baking for more than 30 years.

Casual Fare

For casual fare check out Begbie's Bar & Bistro (best known for its large portions and good food), attached to the Best Western Tower Inn on Reid Street, or Sharks Club Bar and Grill, attached to Sandman Hotel Quesnel, on Chew Avenue just off Highway 97. The Club, with its 3.7m/12ft projector screen, is a great venue to watch major sporting events. Tejas Dining Room, on Front Street serves lunch and dinner from a huge menu that includes parsnip fries and maple five-spice pork chops.

Ethnic Eats

Ulysses Restaurant on Barlow Street serves traditional and modern Greek food, including Spanikopita and prawn Souvlaki. Penisola Classic Italiano, also on Barlow, offers traditional Italian food, such as fettuccini al porto, and veal saltimbocca.

Stop in at the Quesnel Visitor Centre on Hwy 97 and Carson Avenue at the south entrance to the city centre, for further information on dining out in Quesnel, or ask one of the locals for recommendations.
